Pecky Sinker Cypress Resin Heron
This swamp beauty is cut into a rare wood called pecky sinker cypress. The pecky holes in the cypress are made by a fungus. The fungus invades the tree when it is about 125 years old and does not die until the tree dies. The sinker part of the name means the tree fell in the river or swamp after it died and remained there for many years. This wood is is at least 500 years old, and can be as much as 2000 years old. After cutting the heron is then sealed and filled with a high gloss resin to accent the beauty of the wood and grace of the heron.

PLEASE NOTE: Do not clean resin with paper towels, or use any chemicals such as window cleaners. It can be dusted with a soft paintbrush or wiped with a slightly damp chamois or very soft tshirt.
